The Interac Innovation Hub is a central place that hosts high-level information about Interac solutions and offerings. It also contains proof of concept implementations as well as insights and thought-provoking content in emerging areas of innovation.

The Interac Innovation Hub connects to Interac resources including developer portals, each of which provides developers access to Application Programming Interface (API) specifications, Software Development Kits (SDKs), technical documentation, and sandboxes.

To gain access to the developer portal, you must submit a request for the solution you are interested in.

If you submit a request to access Payment network products, we will review your request* and get back to you with the next steps.

If you submit a request to access Interac verification solutions, you will be able to create an account immediately for the Interac verification solutions developer portal.

*Access to Payment network products requires a pre-existing partnership or commercial relationship with an issuing Financial Institution.

Verification solutions:
Once you log into the Interac verification solution developer portal, you can start from a standard identity verification template and customize it to your needs or if you already have a use case in mind you can try other templates such as Advanced Document and Know Your Customer. The keys generated can be used to integrate your own application and you can change these default settings to match your own application settings. You can complete a test call in the playground environment in minutes.

Payment network products:
Access to Payment network products requires a pre-existing partnership or commercial relationship with an issuing Financial Institution.

If you have an pre-existing partnership or commercial relationship with an issuing Financial Institution, please submit a request to access Payment network products, we will review your request and get back to you with the next steps.

Future API products:
If you're not associated with an Issuer/FI, we are in the process of launching more APIs with access across wider payment and verification ecosystem. Stay tuned.

If you’re looking to use Interac e-Transfer to send or receive payments, you’ll have to use the features available through your bank (meaning, send or request money using your bank account). You can reach out to your bank for more information on Interac e-Transfer

A ‘bulk sender’ is an organization, business or association that is registered to use Interac® e-Transfer Bulk Disbursements with a financial institution or bank.

To use Interac e-Transfer Bulk Disbursements, an organization or business must have a business bank account with a Canadian financial institution (FI) that provides Interac e-Transfer Bulk Disbursements as a business bank service. To use Interac e-Transfer Bulk Disbursements you must register through the bank your business or association has a bank account with. You can contact your financial institution for more information.
